- MCS certification is required for your installer if you want to register for the Smart Export Guarantee or qualify for most grant-funded routes, including ECO4.
- Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) rates are set by individual licensed suppliers and change regularly — we'll show you live rates for your postcode as part of your quote.

Do I need solar panels before I can get a battery? +
No. We fit standalone batteries to existing solar systems, or design panels and a battery together as one new system — whichever fits your home.
How do I get a quote if there's no phone number? +
Use the form on our contact page or email leads@solarbaseenergy.co.uk. An MCS-certified installer will follow up by email or the phone number you give us — we just don't run a call centre ourselves.
Is battery storage covered by the 0% VAT rate? +
Yes. Domestic battery storage installed alongside or after solar panels qualifies for 0% VAT in Great Britain until 31 March 2027.
What happens to my battery during a power cut? +
With the right backup-rated setup, essential circuits can switch to stored battery power automatically. Ask about this specifically — not every inverter supports it out of the box.
Do you cover my area? +
We arrange installations UK-wide through our installer network. Tell us your postcode on the contact form and we'll confirm coverage as part of your quote.
